Health and Medicine Question #2231
Ethan Heil, a 18 year old male from Salem, VA asks on September 3, 2004,
I heard that many cereals are fortified with iron chips on the actual cereal. Is there an experiment that I could perform to find if a particular cereal has iron chips in them. If they do, how could I separate the Iron from the cereal?

A simple search at www.google.com on "iron filings cereal" gave many sites that make this claim and also many that describe the experiment you do with a blender and magnets to get the iron out of the cereal. Go to Google, type in the keywords, and give it a try. Good luck!
